Last Sunday I was physically threatened twice in class, and my girlfriend was bullied, by an apparently insane student (my opinion, not libel) who insisted on placing his mat literally on top of hers, despite the fact that more than half the row was unoccupied and available to him. When I asked him to move, this guy, who bares a striking resemblance to Napolean (Bonaparte, not Dynamite), stepped onto my mat--I was seated--and stood directly over me with his face a couple inches from mine while screaming profanities at me. I told him to move away from me several times. He refused. I made management aware of the attack and again asked him, calmly, to move. He then resumed yelling profanities, this time with his middle finger in my face. The intensity of these completely unwarranted attacks was so bad that, although I was the target, many other students also complained to management about this man's multiple violent, sociopathic outbursts. After class I learned from two staff members that they had both experienced similar interactions with the same student, although they did not divulge specific details. The following day I received a call from one of the studio's owners, who offered absolutely no resolution to the incident. I explained that my girlfriend and I would like to continue practicing. We love the studio, the teachers, and the yoga, but we refuse to expose ourselves to the possibility of another violent invasion by Napolean and his army of multiple personalities. I was informed that he is still welcome in the studio and that my girlfriend and I are free to stop practicing there. This apparent refusal by the management to maintain a safe environment for all students is, I believe, and abysmal failure. Negative 15 stars!
To anyone who was in the room and witnessed the incident: please weigh in with your own review or, at least, please contact studio management and let them know how you feel about this matter. Thank you.
